Have The Time of Your Life!

If there is one thing that the last few years have taught me is that I have no time to waste!

Time levels the playing field as we all start each day that we are blessed to be here with the same amount. We each have twenty-four hours and 86,400 seconds. Yet, it is what we do with it is what matters most. It is our decision making, our priorities and even our purpose that is at play each minute of the day as our guiding light.

Time waits for no one is one of those sayings that we hear a lot but do we really take heed to it. I have come to realize this incredible truth about time and that is there are three things that you can do with it. But one thing that no one can do is stop it.

Here are three things that we can do with our time:

1.Spend it. When you are spending time on something or with someone that should be done consciously. Since the time is going to pass anyway, make sure that you’re just not giving it away. How many times have you said, “I am spending time with my children, or spouse or friend?” Or we are spending Saturday afternoon going to the football game, or the movie theatre. This is time that you won’t get back but it will give you memories, stories and adventures that will prove to be priceless.

“The way we spend our time defines who we are.” – Jonathan Katrin

2. Invest it. When you are investing in anything you are expecting a return. Your time shouldn’t be any different. You are investing time at work for a paycheck, you are investing time with clients for the exchange of business. Or maybe you are investing time online learning a new trade to be able to make more money. Whatever it is, there should be a return whether tangible or intangible.

“Time is money.” – Benjamin Franklin

3. Waste it. Let me be the first to say that there is nothing worse than wasted time! Time is your most precious resource, you can’t get it back and you have forfeited the aspect of making a return on it. This is probably where you should spend the most time taking stock of how much time you are wasting.

“The man who dares waste one hour of the time he has not discovered the value of life.” – Charles Darwin

If time is going to fly, you might as well make it count.
